Ingredients
3 cracked cinnamon sticks
1 tsp black peppercorns
½ tsp whole cloves
3 cracked cardamon pods (can substitute for ½ tsp ground cardamon)
1 tsp maple syrup
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
5 cups unsweetened apple juice
½ tbsp orange zest
Directions
Add all dry spices except nutmeg to a saucepan on medium heat for 4-5 minutes until aromatic; constantly swirl the saucepan to prevent spices from scorching
Add nutmeg, apple juice, orange zest, and maple syrup. Bring to a boil
Reduce heat to simmer for 15-20 minutes. Longer the simmer, the stronger the cider
Filter through a strainer in to cup or mug, then allow to slightly cool. Enjoy!
